Back To The Zone & The Legend of 23 Hop: Awards & Nominations: Updated.

UPDATE: On October 30, Sketched Out: The Digitized Graffiti Series was voted the 2023 People’s Choice Award Winner from Heritage Toronto! A big thank you to Heritage Toronto and all of the folks that took the time to vote.
I wanted to provide a quick update about the film projects I have been working on for awhile now.
The Legend of 23 Hop (which profiles the early history of raves in Canada) recently won Best Short Doc at the 2023 Toronto Independent Film Festival.
Both films, including Back To The Zone (which covers Toronto’s legendary nightclub, The Twilight Zone) got nominated for the 2023 Heritage Toronto’s Public History Award.
They are also eligible for the 2023 Heritage Toronto People’s Choice Award.
If you’d like to vote for them, I would really appreciate it. If you’re familiar with my work, you may know that I have spent about 20 years on this project, so these types of awards really mean a lot. They also help spread the word on some of the things that bring a little magic into this world, like music and dance. The only catch is, only donors to Heritage Toronto  are eligible. The good news is, your vote gets counted as long as meets the minimum $20 threshold for a tax receipt. And it’s a great organization to help out – they do tons of cool stuff, like preserve and protect architecture and promote important historical and cultural legacies.

Once you’ve gotten a donor/receipt number, you can proceed to vote.

The project is under: Sketched Out: The Digitized Graffiti Series.
If you’re not able to make a donation right now, I totally get it. Times are tough.
But maybe consider spreading the word. Feel free to share this post to any music history lovers you may know.
There are tons of other cool projects under the same public history category.
Thanks for reading this, and for supporting me over the years.
