Here’s a super rare clip of LL Cool J with DJ Cut Creator at a dance in Maine way back in 1985. He was paid 500 bucks for the show, and wasn’t sure if he had enough material, so he provided some beatboxing and scratching edumucation. In short, he took ’em to school. This was recorded 5 months before his debut album Radio was released.
And while we’re on the LL Cool old school flavour tip, it may be a great excuse to re-visit another one of his classics. This track never seems to lose it’s freshness to me; it sounds as good to me as it ever was. Going Back to Cali was off his third album in 1988, and produced by the infamous Rick Rubin. Directed by Rick Menello.
