The Cult of Personality

I still don’t know what I was waiting for
And my time was running wild
A million dead-end streets
Every time I thought I’d got it made
It seemed the taste was not so sweet
So I turned myself to face me
But I’ve never caught a glimpse
Of how the others must see the faker
I’m much too fast to take that test

-Changes, David Bowie

A recent study suggests that our personalities are pretty much set for life by Grade One. Yes. Grade One. I am going to be honest here. While I do find these results interesting, I can’t help but feel slightly disturbed by them, after all, I like to think I’ve changed from that quiet, awkward child in the corner. But maybe the only thing that changes is the perception of ourselves when we look in the mirror. One thing I think we can all agree on, is that Grade One is finally over. Or is it?
