AlunaGeorge :: You Know You Like It :: The Remixes.

aluna_george

Comprised of Aluna Francis and George Reid; AlunaGeorge are represented by London’s Island Records. They came out with a solid hit 2 years ago called You Know You Like It. This track has spawned a number of compelling remixes, most recently courtesy of Wilfred Giroux (a decidedly bouncy/clubby take on it). But trust me – they are all a very worthwhile listen. Check out the original along with the subsequent remixes. Got a favourite? Drop a comment, home skillet.

    1. It’s a tough one for me, I might have to call it a tie between Bondax & Wilfred Giroux. DJ Snake has a decidedly trappish feel to it, and hasn’t messed too much with the integrity of the original vocals, which is nice. Bondax has a more frenetic pace and chopped up the vocals into a lovely irreverant mess with cute piano and synth riffs that somehow all comes together really nicely. – my only complaint is that I want it to last longer. Giroux’s take on it involves a very standard housey intro, with slightly sped up vocals, which is all very fine, but the real fun starts at 1.30, with a gorgeous bouncy beat that soothes, tickles and seduces. Impossible not to bop your head to. This one should be definitely played at your next house party. But maybe play all 4 for good measure, If your friends are not dancing by the third track, it’s time to get new ones.
