This one just turned up in my inbox over the long weekend while away on holiday. There’s something so sincere about this track; it’s an homage to Chicago and the originators of house music, where it all started, around 25 years ago. The shaky, handheld images of the city are a reminder that raw, sometimes unpolished d.i.y projects are an important part of what underground scenes are all about. Great gospel inspired vocals, and simple bassline and keyboard work that echo the earnest simplicity, sincerity and togetherness of the early days of house.
