Recorded shortly into the new year, I just discovered a breathtaking performance and interview of Hopkins over at Seattle’s indie darling KEXP. It’s such a pleasure to catch Hopkins create his soundscapes live, and there’s also a revealing interview in between tracks where we learn more on his creative process (he generally begins his pieces with organic, old school building blocks like classic synth lines and processed, chopped up samples of his own voice), along with his background in classical music. Just last week, he’s released a new mix of Coldplay’s Midnight, check it out over on Beatport.
